As you search on the internet, consider using Good Search as your search engine. Type “Friendswood Band” in the “who do you search for” box and hit Verify. After that, search all you like. For every search, the band receives 1 cent so if all 250 students in the band and color guard along with the parents search once a day, we could make $225 a month. That is free money for the band to use. Put Good Search as your homepage as a reminder to use it. Thanks!
Got Crawfish! We’ve got a date at the end of April for a Band Crawfish Boil and now we’re looking for parents to lead the efforts. The board has been brainstorming trying to minimize the number of fundraisers by holding bigger more lucrative events. We think this could be one of our big ticket items, but we need your help. To find out more contact Laura Konet @281-482-5694 or lrkonet@yahoo.com.
The FHS Percussion Solo & Ensemble Contest and Marching Clinic has been moved from Saturday, March 6, to Friday, March 5, due to student and clinician conflicts. The event will begin at 4:00 p.m. and end around 9:00 p.m. Ricky Rodriguez, from Spring High School, is our judge and clinician. He was a member of the Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps and has taught at Spring for many years. Just recently the Spring HS Percussion Ensemble performed at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago. All 8th grade percussionists are invited to attend the marching clinic to begin preparing them for high school. Mr. Urbina and Mr. Sanchez will work out those details about time, etc. More details will come out soon. If there are any questions, please contact Mr. Sanchez.
